Microscopic Slides
There is both a simplicity and vastness found in the complex biological worlds unveiled by a microscope. Inspired by my cellular landscape series, the colourful microscope slide artworks are gestural, abstract interpretations of cells while the white and gold artworks are etched, inkjet photo transfers inspired by my micro botanicals series.
Slides are sealed with acrylic gloss medium on standard microscope slides measuring 75 mm x 25 mm (3″ by 1″)

"When with excellent microscopes I discern the inimitable subtility of nature’s curious workmanship; and when, in a word, by the help of anatomical knives, and the light of chemical furnaces, I study the book of nature I find myself oftentimes reduced to exclaim with the Psalmist, How manifold are Thy works, O Lord."
- Robert Boyle (founder of Modern Chemistry)
