Wall Sculpture inspired by scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a single Navicula diatom. Diatoms are single-celled algae enclosed inside highly intricate glass (silica) walls called fustules. Diatoms produce 20-30% of the air we breathe and are a major food resource for aquatic microorganisms.
Each piece has a hole in the back that is fit to sit on a small nail hammered at a 45 degree angle for secure hanging.
