Diatoms

Identified by their often round, intricate and mesmerizing patterns, diatoms are single celled algae and only organisms in the world with transparent cell walls. This series celebrates their pivotal role in the sustanability of not only aquatic ecosystems, but life as we know it, for they produce more than 50% of the air we breathe. These artworks are reminders that the life around us and within us in all forms, is to be treasured and protected; that it hangs on a delicate balance dependent on our ability to preserve and wisely steward the Creator's gifts.

"Rather than seeing ourselves as insignificant specks in the immensity of the cosmos, we can consider that immensity an indicator of our worth."
